Christmas Break

For Christmas and new years this year we got to go to Utah and stay with Marisa's parents for two full weeks. It was great to spend time with family and get to hear everyone say how cute Cam is. Marisa had the flu for almost a week while we were there--which was pretty miserable, but it was a true miracle that Cameron and Brian did not get it! Thank heavens for Priesthood blessings.

We bought Marisa's parents the game Sequence for Christmas and played it a lot while we were there. Marisa's Dad would always pretend he had a fantastic hand. During the whole game he'd say, "Oh this is fabulous! Fabulous. Fabulous. Oh this is fabulous. Fabulous. Fabulous." And then on his turn he'd lay down an ordinary card.

Grandpas can be a little scary sometimes.

But other times they are lots of fun. (Hyrum--Kara's youngest--and Grandpa Gary.)

Cameron got to try real food (well sort of, rice cereal) for the first time while we were in Utah. He is getting better at it now, but it takes a little coordination.

Cam and Aunt Janna.

They told us to back Cam up and set him on Santa's lap without him seeing Santa, so he wouldn't freak out. I don't think Cam thought much about Santa one way or the other, but it's Christmas so we had to post the picture.

Marisa and Cam in front of our Christmas tree. Marisa really likes his crazy Russian pilot hat, Cam.... not so much.

Story time with Grandpa!!

Helping Grandma Marsha cheat at Sequence. Well, not here actually. But one of our last games there, my Dad and Mom were a team and they were losing. When it was his turn to deal, he gathered up all the wild cards on the bottom of the deck while our heads were turned. He'd deal Brian, himself, and I off the top of the deck. But he'd deal Mom cards off the bottom. So she literally had a whole hand of "jackers" (the wild cards--as my Dad calls them). But she didn't cheat as much as she could have! :o) We sure had a lot of laughs playing with them.

Cam got a quiet book for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa. He seems to have an inordinate fondness of giraffes, I'm not sure what that means, but it sure is fun to see his personality complete with his very own likes and dislikes become more and more prominent.

Cam went bonkers when he saw what he got from Aunt Janna (a play tool bench that plays music and talks) he couldn't wait to smack it around a bit.

Hyrum in his tunnel o' fun.
